Corinne Kannenberg brings to the Alliance a variety of experience in higher education, nonprofits, advocacy, and the arts and humanities. Trained as a historian, her scholarly research focuses on the material culture of persecuted religious communities in the Middle Ages. While a graduate student, Corinne was introduced to HEP through Princeton’s Prison Teaching Initiative, through which she taught several college-level writing and history courses. All together, she has over seven years of experience teaching at colleges and universities across the country. After completing her doctorate, Corinne was awarded an ACLS Leading Edge Fellowship at Restore Justice, where she was a Policy and Communications Specialist. There, she worked on a storytelling project focused on the issue of juvenile life without parole sentences in Illinois. She also has a degree in studio arts and has worked at several museums and archives.
As Communications Director, Corinne leads the Alliance’s outreach and community engagement initiatives. She is currently based in Chicago.
