Allison Lopez started working for the Alliance in 2022 as the Operations and Development Manager. She works with all team members and community partners to support day-to-day operations and fundraising efforts.

Her road to the Alliance includes teaching English language learners, coordinating the college prep writing program and working as the learning specialist for Mount Tamalpais College, and most recently, serving as the employment specialist in a family shelter for East Oakland Community Project.

She has been supporting underrepresented and system-impacted students and clients by identifying and removing barriers and navigating resources for many years and is excited to work in a new role where the goal is to change how higher education is accessed. She is the board secretary for the Oakland Literacy Coalition and has an M.A. in Linguistics from San Francisco State University.
