Dr. Jamey Leeanne Rislin is a licensed counseling psychologist and licensed clinical social worker. She earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, and her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from New Mexico State University. She recognizes the importance of the scientist-practitioner-advocate-artist role and brings this level of integrated thought to all aspects of her professional work. Dr. Rislin has worked in a plethora of clinical settings including inpatient treatment facilities, college counseling centers, community-based outpatient centers and juvenile detention centers. She has worked with diverse clients with varied psychosocial and mental health needs, including clients involved in the criminal-legal system. Her research focuses on minority mental health, the impact of systems of oppression on mental and physical health, best practices in improving treatment outcomes and satisfaction and service delivery for diverse clients and client systems. She is particularly interested in multicultural considerations in psychology, mental health literacy, issues of diversity, equity and inclusion and the intersection of mental health and education. Dr. Rislin is the founder and owner of Embodied Synergy Psychological and Consultation Services, LLC., a private practice that provides effective, accessible, culturally-syntonic interventions and services for individuals and organizations.
