We are excited to announce that Ascendium Education Philanthropy recently awarded the Alliance a capacity- and infrastructure-building grant. 

With this support, we will be able to assess our internal capacity, identify areas for growth and improvement, and develop a strategic roadmap for the future. Ascendium’s ongoing support has helped the Alliance grow as field builders in the higher education in prison community, and this renewed support will help us to strengthen and advance our work even further. 

Strategic planning is at the heart of this grant award, and we’re thrilled to have Julep Consulting guiding us in this process. 

This exciting next step comes after the Alliance became an independent 501(c)(3) organization earlier this year.

Our full staff and board of directors, along with key stakeholders, will evaluate our evolving role in the field and develop a sustainable strategy for being the best possible resource for the community of higher education in prison moving forward.

As part of this process, we’ll be soliciting feedback from community members in a variety of ways, including a field survey, which will be essential in ensuring this plan reflects the needs of the higher education in prison community.
