The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) is seeking a Program Administrator to serve as a member of the leadership team providing statewide coordination and technical assistance for correctional education programs. These programs include basic skills, vocational, associate and bachelor’s degrees, transitional educational reentry services and other agreed upon educational programs offered by sixteen community and technical colleges in partnership with the Department of Corrections at the twelve adult correctional facilities.
Headquartered in Olympia, Washington, this position has travel requirements to correctional facilities and colleges through the state of Washington as well as some out-of-state travel for conferences.
This position may work remotely or work from the agency office. However, travel to Olympia for in-person meetings, system meetings and face-to-face professional development offerings is required.
This position reports to the Associate Director for Corrections with the focus of scaling equitable access to educational opportunities for justice-involved individuals across the community and technical college system.

Principal Activities
- Provide support, guidance and monitoring activities of Corrections Education Navigators to ensure understanding and compliance with SBCTC/DOC Correction Agreement.
- Identify strategies and design projects that provide innovative professional development for Correctional Education Navigators, to include evidence-based assessments.
- Provide support and technical assistance for staff, faculty and Correctional Education Deans and Directors.
- Proficiency with principles of Guided Pathways and concepts of advising.
- Understanding of financial aid opportunities and processes for access.
- Assist with Pell Reinstatement Taskforce.
- Collaborate with SBCTC colleagues and system stakeholders to reduce racial equity gaps in the community and technical college system, particularly related to increasing access to college and supporting the success of students of color and other minoritized student groups.
- Coordinate, plan and host the Corrections Education biennial conference.
- Ability to function, problem-solve, and work remotely and collaboratively in a technology-rich environment.
- Experience with education delivery platforms and able to provide technical support.
- Assist in development of corrections strategic plan.
- Manage Corrections Education Web page.
- Work with Apprenticeship Work Group.
- Function as a member of the Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) team, attend department meetings, and follow department processes and requirements.
- Ability to work remotely and travel as needed.
- Perform various activities to support the Associate Director for Corrections.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A successful candidate is required to have:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related areas OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Work collaboratively, think creatively, act resourcefully, and exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver equity-centered professional development/trainings.
- Experience managing multiple activities and projects to successful completion.
- Required to be available for travel both in- and out-of-state.
- Proven ability to lead with an equity mindset, think creatively and strategically, and act with cultural awareness and humility.
- Required to pass a Department of Corrections Security Background Clearance.
