Middlesex College: Center for Justice-Impacted Students Program Manager

The Center for Justice-Impacted Students (CJIS) Program Manager will work closely with Middlesex College students, staff, the Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC), the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center (JDC), and affiliated juvenile justice and reentry organizations in order to oversee program management of the existing programs as well as in the development and expansion of new juvenile justice higher educational initiatives.

Within this capacity, the CJIS Program Manager will oversee management and reporting of CJIS grants, support multiple programs’ operations, collaborate on marketing and outreach efforts, and support program data collection and analysis.

$72,025.00

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversees operations of an Associate degree program for incarcerated youth across JJC secure-care facilities and JJC community programs.
  2. Oversees operational support for non-credit bearing programming provided to incarcerated and justice-impacted students.
  3. Collaborates with the Academic Director and the Grants Department to identify and secure external grant funding to support the development and expansion of programming for justice-impacted students.
  4. Manages CJIS grant spending and complete grant progress reports.
  5. Prepares, monitors, and reconciles budgets, ensuring grants compliance.
  6. Prepares and delivers presentations to campus units and community organizations to recruit, support, and advocate on behalf of justice-impacted students.
  7. Provides operational support to faculty teaching across the JJC Associate degree program and within JDC facilities.
  8. Interacts with and acts as a liaison to other areas within the College, the detention centers, JJC, and other relevant organizations in order to facilitate justice-impacted individuals’ secured access to College programming and supplemental supports as they transition to various programs and/or are discharged.
  9. Collaborates with the Academic Director and the Student and Enrollment Services Division to design and execute a comprehensive recruitment and retention model for justice-impacted Middlesex College students.
  10. Collaborates with the Academic Director to oversee the operation of Juvenile Justice Reform Club.
  11. Collaborates with the Marketing and Communication Department for marketing and publicity efforts, including the Center’s newsletter and e-mail campaigns and managing social media accounts.
  12. Collaborates with the Academic Director to plan and execute events, including through collaborative partnerships with pertinent campus units, to advance the Center’s mission.
  13. Collects and tracks all programs-based activities and outcomes.
  14. Supports data analysis and assessment efforts.
  15. Supervises the CJIS Program Coordinator, part-time staff, and federal work study students.
  16. Represents the Center for Justice-Impacted Students at campus and community events.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Five (5) years of experience coordinating student support programs
  • Experience with grant reporting and compliance
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of America’s criminal justice system and reform efforts  
  • Strong time management and project management skills  
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a Higher Education environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
