Edmonds College: Associate Dean of Corrections Education Programs - Monroe Correctional Complex

Edmonds College is seeking mission driven Associate Dean to oversee the administration of the Edmonds College Corrections Education program at the Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC), which includes the Washington State Reformatory Unit, Twin Rivers Unit, Special Offenders Unit, Intensive Management Unit, and the Minimum Security Unit.

Responsibilities include the following: providing the oversight and leadership of Adult Basic Education and Vocational Education programs within a prison setting; planning, scheduling, and evaluating programs; selecting, training, supervising, and evaluating faculty and staff; submitting grant applications and reports and ensuring grant goals and objectives are met; developing and monitoring budgets; balancing goals of the College, Department of Corrections, and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges; ensuring effective representation and communication to the four MCC sites, relevant volunteer and community organizations, the College, the State Board, and all levels within the Department of Corrections; ensuring compliance with college policies, State Board and DOC policies, and applicable State and Federal laws.

This is an exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Instruction of Edmonds College. The Associate Dean is also responsible to the Superintendent of the Monroe Correctional Complex for compliance with Department of Corrections policies.

Salary

$95,884.12-$103,351.01

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree
  • Working experience in a corrections or educational setting.
  • Three years’ administrative experience including supervision, budgeting, and planning.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Teaching or counseling experience at a post-secondary level.
  • Experience working with adult learners, including Adult Basic Education and vocational students or special needs populations.
  • Experience with Workforce Certificate/Degree Programs, including program start-up management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative leadership style.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, life experiences and abilities.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
