Understanding the Technology Ecosystem for Higher Education Programs in Prison

Join us for a conversation about technology and higher education in prison!

Staff from RTI International and Ithaka S+R will share lessons learned from our recent projects to document and strengthen how technology is being accessed and used in higher education programs in prisons, with a focus on defining and supporting quality uses of technology. In this session, we will briefly review the components of a technology ecosystem for correctional education, which include the IT infrastructure and instructional strategies needed to support quality uses. We also will explore practical considerations and examples of effective uses of technology in higher education programs in prisons. Participants will share their experiences and technical assistance needs for using educational technology to support students’ learning goals.
